Omar Govt should take strong action against selective killings: M K Ajatshatru Singh

JAMMU, Oct 25: M.K Ajatshatru Singh, senior BJP leader and former Minister, has strongly condemned the recent series of selective killings in the Kashmir Province. He emphasized that these heinous acts not only threaten the safety of the region’s citizens but also jeopardize the flourishing tourism sector, which is vital for the economic stability of Jammu and Kashmir.

Issuing a press statement here today, the former minister Ajatshatru Singh said, “Tourism in Kashmir has been witnessing a remarkable revival, attracting visitors from across the globe. However, the ongoing terror attacks pose a significant risk to our eco-tourism system. We cannot allow these violent acts to undermine the hard work and dedication of those striving to promote our beautiful land.”

Highlighting the capability of the current leadership, Ajatshatru Singh said, “Omar Abdullah has proven to be a young and dynamic Chief Minister with substantial experience in managing the complexities of our region. I urge his government to take these selective killings and terror attacks seriously and to implement effective measures to ensure the safety and security of our people.”

Ajatshatru Singh reiterated the importance of a united front against terrorism and called for immediate action to address these issues, stressing that the government must prioritize the safety of its citizens to sustain and enhance the tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The government must demonstrate its commitment to protecting its citizens by taking decisive action against the perpetrators of these violent acts. A robust strategy is needed to instill confidence among the people and reassure tourists that Jammu and Kashmir is a safe destination,” he added.

The senior BJP leader urged all stakeholders, including local communities and political leaders, to come together in the fight against terrorism and work towards fostering a peaceful environment conducive to growth and development.
