6th Edition Of MUN Commences At KC Public School
The 6th edition of the Model United Nations (MUN) Conference 2024 commenced at KC Public School on October 25 with an opening ceremony followed by thought-provoking debate sessions on a wide range of national and international issues on day one. 280 student delegates from different schools of Jammu were present on the opening day. The 3 days’ Conference aims at providing a solid platform for the students of Jammu to engage in meaningful conversations about crucial issues affecting the world of today. They will avail of the opportunity to engage in debates, listen to diverse perspectives on those issues and enhance their leadership and diplomatic skills.
The Conference took off with an opening ceremony held in the sports hall of KC Sports Club at 3 pm. Prof. Sanjay Gupta from the Department of Law of the University of Jammu graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest and Dr. Raj Kumar, Senior Assistant Professor of Law from the same university lent charm to the function as the Guest of Honour. After lighting of the lamp ceremony, KCPS Principal AK Mishra welcomed the special guests and student delegates from participating school. His address was followed by a short cultural programme consisting of song and dance items. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of gavels to the members of the Executive Board of the Conference.
In their addresses to the delegates present at the opening ceremony, both the special guests expressed their delight at the emergence of extremely effective methods and approaches being practiced globally in imparting ideal school education and wished the delegates great success in their 3 days long deliberations on significant issues facing the world of today.
The opening ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
