Student Elections Held at Govt Degree College for Women, Kathua
KATHUA, October : The Government Degree College for Women, Kathua, conducted student elections for the executive body and general body today, fostering democratic values and leadership skills among the students. Active participation was witnessed from students of B.A./B.Sc. Semesters I, III, and V, who elected their class representatives.
The College Executive Body elections were held in the Principal’s office, where the newly elected class representatives selected the student executive body through a democratic process. The positions of President was clinched by Ms .Tania Rajput Vice-President Laxmi Devi, General Secretary, Ms.Palak Sharma and Treasurer Ms Hittu, Literary Secretary Ms. Abha, Cultural Secretary Ms. Dallu Mangotra and Sports Secretary Ms.Manisha Kumari, were filled by the elected members.
Addressing the newly elected representatives,Principal of the college,Dr. Savi Behl encouraged them to contribute effectively towards the smooth functioning of the institution, ensuring both academic and extracurricular excellence.
The election process was overseen by Dr. Rachna Devi, DSW, with senior faculty members Prof. Seema Jolly, Prof. Ashwani Khajuria, and Dr. Babita Mahajan acting as observers. The entire teaching faculty, along with members of the Student Welfare Committee, including Dr. Amita Dua, Dr. Renu, Dr. Sonika Jasrotia, Dr. Surekha, and Dr. Satish Khajuria, actively contributed to the successful execution of the event. Principal of the college,Dr. Savi Behl extended her appreciation to the committee for ensuring a well-organized election process. Leadership is not merely a title or position. It is a responsibility, an opportunity to serve others, and to uplift the institution to new heights.
