PM Modi’s focus on skill-based job creation; Rs 3 lakh crore allocated in budget: Union Minister Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], October 29 (ANI): The central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is emphasizing skill-based job creation, with over Rs 3 lakh crore allocated in the recent budget to enhance youth employability, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, HD Kumaraswamy said on Tuesday.

In the second phase of the Prime Minister’s Rozgar Mela, appointment letters were distributed to 51,000 selected youth across various central government departments at 40 locations nationwide.

The event, conducted on an online platform, featured the participation of Prime Minister Modi, while Minister Kumaraswamy attended the program held at the Jnana Jyothi Auditorium in Bengaluru.

After distributing appointment letters to 25 youths, Union Minister Kumaraswamy addressed the gathering, mentioning that recruitments had taken place in 12 departments of the central government.

“PM Modi is encouraging skill-based job creation intending to achieve the ‘Viksit Bharat’ goal by 2047. Rs 3 lakh crore has been earmarked in the budget for this purpose, which will be directly released to MSMEs,” he said.

“Under the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, PM Modi is significantly promoting job creation. The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme is also making considerable strides in the employment sector,” he added, stating that this will help transform India into the third-largest economic power.

During the event, Kumaraswamy praised the postal department, noting that in the first phase of the Rozgar Mela, the department provided jobs to 30,000 youth and employed another 20,000 in the second phase.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth under Rozgar Mela through video conferencing on Tuesday.

Rozgar Mela was organised at 40 locations nationwide, with new recruits joining the Central Government across various Ministries and Departments, such as the Department of Revenue, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare among others.

Rozgar Mela is a step towards the fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation in the country.
