DC Leh Santosh Sukhadeve celebrates Diwali at Helpage India (Ladakh)

Leh, October 28, 2024: The Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, celebrated Diwali with residents at Helpage India Old Age home at Shey today on October 30, 2024. The program was organized by Helpage India in collaboration with Druk Padma Karpo School.

During the programme, students from Druk Padma Karpo School featured various recreational activities such as musical performance, dance performance, songs and shayari adding a lively atmosphere at the old age home. Resident of the Old Age Home also participated in singing and dancing.

The Deputy Commissioner, Leh spoke on the occasion and appreciated Helpage India and Druk Padma Karpo School for such initiatives. He extended his greetings to everyone for Diwali and spoke about the significance of such festivals which celebrates light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. He added that such activities will help the old people to stay happy and encourage the organization to keep engaging the them with such activities. He also assured support from District Administration for the Old Age Home.

The program concluded with the Deputy Commissioner joining residents, faculty along with the school students in a traditional dance.
