DC Kishtwar hosts “Deepawali Milan” to Foster Communal Harmony & Unity
KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 30: As a gesture of goodwill and a prelude to the upcoming Deepawali festival, District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan organized a heartfelt “Deepawali Milan”, here today.
This gathering aimed to reinforce communal harmony and rekindle the spirit of unity, as well as to inspire peace and prosperity.
With attendees from all walks of society including retired senior Officer from Civil, Police and Army ; members of Social ,political and cultural organisations; religious leaders, district and sectoral officers; Officers of Police,Army , Paramilitary besides media persons, the event reflected the true spirit of Deepawali – the victory of light over darkness and the triumph of good over evil.
In the welcome address, DC Shavan extended his warmest greetings for Deepawali and highlighted the festival’s importance as a time for unity, hope, and communal harmony.
He said that today’s Deepawali Milan is an occasion to come together in the spirit of love and brotherhood, reinforcing the shared values that bind us.
DC further emphasized the significance of peace as the basis of progress, urging everyone to work collectively for a peaceful, harmonious, and prosperous Kishtwar.
During the event, notable civil society members and religious leaders shared the significance of Deepawali as a celebration of unity and collective goodwill.
In keeping with the festive spirit, the Deepawali Milan featured an assortment of sweets and refreshments, enjoyed by participants from diverse backgrounds. The gesture of sharing sweets symbolized the inclusivity of the celebration, bringing people of different communities together to share in the joy of the upcoming festival.

SSP Abdul Qayoom and ADC Pawan Kotwal, along with other district officials, also extended their greetings to all present.
