Ladakh all set to hold two days ‘Ladakh Education Conclave – Access to Quality Education for a Vibrant and Viksit Ladakh”

Leh, November 21, 2024: The Higher Education Department, School Education Department, and Ladakh Skill Development are organizing a two-day Ladakh Education Conclave 2024′ from 22 to 23 November at the Zen Hotel Leh. Brig (Dr) BD. Mishra Retd, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor UT Ladakh, will grace the occasion as Chief Guest, while the Chairman, LAHDC Leh, and Kargil have been invited as Guests of Honour.

The event aims to unite policy-makers, institutions, industries, experts, teachers, students, and communities to collaborate on a holistic approach to education by aligning school education, vocational skilling, and higher education as per the National Education Policy 2020 and current trends.

The conclave will focus on topics like Seamless transition from school to higher education; ensuring continuity and relevance, Skill integration at all levels of education to foster employability and entrepreneurship; Equity and Inclusion; providing access to education for students from remote, tribal, and marginalized communities; innovative pedagogy and digital learning tools to enhance quality and access, especially in rural and challenging geographies like Ladakh and Sustainable development through education aligned with regional socio-economic needs.

 Renowned experts from the field of School Education, Faculties from Colleges and Universities, Industry representatives and Organisations with field experience shall sit with Policy makers and local practitioners to deliberate in a structured framework on key focus areas. Based on the deliberations a draft action plan for the next five years will be prepared for the concern departments.

Elected representatives, CSOs and students will also be a part of the ten Working Groups and give their inputs during the two days Conclave.  Senior Professors from NCERT, Bhopal & Delhi, Professors from RIE (Regional Institute of Education), Ajmeer & professors from NIEP from School Education sector, senior Professors from Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, University of Kashmir, IIM Jammu, IIT Delhi are among the academia participants
