Rajouri admin convenes Block Diwas outreach camp at Plangarh to redress public issues
RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 21: Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, presided over a Block Divas program at Plangarh to address grievances and ensure efficient delivery of public services.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from residents of the area who raised several pressing issues.
Key demands included Construction of roads to improve connectivity, provision of adequate water supply to meet the needs of the local population, construction of tractor roads and canals (Khuls) by the Rural Development Department (RDD), release of pending material payments under the MGNREGA scheme & Inclusion of left-out beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Dr. Thapa gave a patient hearing to the public grievances and provided on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for their timely resolution. He emphasised the importance of addressing public issues on priority and improving the quality of life for the residents.
In his address, Dr. Thapa highlighted the district administration’s commitment to ensure that public grievances are resolved efficiently and transparently. He reiterated that similar platforms like Block Diwas are crucial for bridging the gap between the administration and the public, particularly in remote and rural areas.
The program was attended by Chief Planning Officer Maqsood Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats Sheraz Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Development Vijay Kumar, Executive Engineers from various departments, and other district and sectoral officers. Their active participation helped facilitate the resolution of several issues on the spot.
Meanwhile, Block Divas events were also held in other subdivisions of the district, to engage with residents and address their concerns comprehensively.
