Leh, Nov 22, 2024: The much-anticipated Ladakh Education Conclave 2024 has officially commenced, offering a transformative platform designed to bring together the brightest minds and key stakeholders in the education sector. This event is a powerful convergence of policymakers, educators, industry leaders, students, and community members, all united in their mission to shape the future of education in Ladakh. The conclave aims to create a robust, integrated approach to education that aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, while also addressing the unique challenges and opportunities of this vibrant region.
The inaugural session of the conclave was graced by the esteemed presence of Lieutenant Governor Dr. BD Mishra, whose leadership and commitment to the development of Ladakh have been pivotal.
The second session of the education conclave was marked by a compelling presentation from the Director of Education, Ladakh Tsering Paldan. He provided an overview of the conclave’s context, emphasizing the progress, challenges, and achievements of the School Education Department in the region. He highlighted the strides made in improving the quality of education, infrastructure development, and student performance metrics. The Director also shared key statistics and initiatives undertaken to enhance learning outcomes, teacher training programs, and community participation in education.
Following this, Abid Hussain, Superintendent of Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Kargil, presented on behalf of the Ladakh Skill Development Mission. His presentation focused on vocational education and skill development in Ladakh, outlining significant changes and achievements in the sector. Abid Hussain emphasized the importance of equipping students with practical and industry-relevant skills to prepare them for the evolving job market.
At last Director Tashi Ldawa delivered an insightful presentation. He provided an overview of the various themes of the event. In his presentation, Tashi Ldawa also highlighted the current educational scenario in Ladakh, addressing key challenges, opportunities, and ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education in the region.
In the post-lunch or final session, a dynamic panel discussion took place, where participants were divided into different groups. Each group consisted of both external resource persons and local experts from Leh and Kargil. The themes for the discussions were one focusing on Higher Education and the other on Vocational Education. The expertise of the participants aligned with the respective themes, ensuring targeted and insightful discussions.
The discussions revolved around a range of pressing issues and challenges pertinent to the assigned themes. Participants actively engaged in identifying effective strategies and practical solutions tailored to the unique contexts of each theme.
