2-Day District Level Training Programme on Soil Health Management concludes at Sunderbani
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 23: Divisional Soil Survey Scheme under Directorate of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare, Jammu, conducted a two Day Training Programme on Soil Health Management for 50 Farmers/Rural Youth of District Rajouri at Radha Krishan Mandir Hall Sunderbani.
The two-day District level Soil Health Management Programme formed part of a comprehensive series of capacity building initiatives designed for farmers across ten districts of the Jammu Division under the directions of Director Agriculture Jammu Arvinder Singh Reen.
The series, being conducted by Divisional Soil Survey Officer Suresh Kumar Khajuria, aims to empower the farming community with advanced knowledge and techniques for sustainable soil health management under the HADP Project No. 19 J&K Soil and Land Resources Information Systems for Planning and Soil Health Management (JKSLRI) for the Year 2024-25.
On the first day, the programme commenced with lighting of the traditional lamp by Divisional Soil Survey Officer Jammu, Agriculture Chemist Jammu and other functionaries present on the occasion.
During the two day event, Resource Persons, Aman Jyoti Sharma, Agriculture Chemist Jammu; Dr Vikas Gupta Scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (SKUAST-J) Rajouri; Dr Neeraj Rajwal Assistant Soil Chemist Jammu; Dr Aadil Rashid ASSO Jammu;
Susheel Kumar, Assistant Soil Chemist Rajouri and Dr Vinay Jandyal Assistant Soil Conservation Officer Rajouri gave detailed presentations on Judicious use of Fertilizers, Sustainable Soil Health Management, Physical Properties of Soils, Soil Health Card Scheme, Land Capability Classification, Status of Soil Health Card Scheme in Rajouri District and Integrated Nutrient Management respectively.
The success of the programme was attributed to the collaborative efforts of Chief Agriculture Officer Rajouri Sohan Singh, DAO Extension Ashwani Sharma, SDAO Nowshera Siddarth Nanda and AEO Sunderbani Devinder Jandial who provided essential support and coordination for the programme. Rajeev Katoch, Programme Officer from Office of the Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Jammu effectively moderated the proceedings.
The programme culminated with the distribution of participation certificates and Soil Sample collection Kits by the dignitaries present in the valedictory function.
