District Administration Leh led by Deputy Commissioner Santosh Sukhadeve celebrates Constitution Day of India
Leh, November 26, 2024: District Administration Leh led by Deputy Commissioner Santosh Sukhadeve celebrated Constitution Day of India. The DC Leh read the Preamble of the Constitution and took pledge at Conference Hall DC Office Leh on the occasion of National Constitution Day.
Additional District Development Commissioner Sonam Nurboo, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Mohmad, Chief Planning Officer Tsewang Gyalson and officers and officials of various department were present during the programme.
The programme began with a short introduction about the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949 by the Constituent Assembly. The Deputy Commissioner Leh Santosh Sukhadeve mentioned about the importance of the Constitution Day and highlighted the salient features of the Indian Constitution. He mentioned that the constitution is our national identity and national pride and as a citizen we must know our rights and duties which is written in the constitution.
Furthermore, he also added that we must know the constitutional principles to achieve growth, development and progress in ourselves and our country. Later, he read the Preamble of the constitution and took pledge along with other officers and officials of District Administration Leh.
The DC Leh emphasized on the values enshrined in the Constitution and urged everyone to follow the fundamental duties while enjoying the rights.
Chief Planning Officer Tsewang Gyalson while defining the meaning of the Preamble, urged upon all officers/officials to maintain a sense of brotherhood, achieve the idea of social, economic, and political justice, liberty of thought and expression, equality among all, and element of fraternity as enshrined in the preamble of the Constitution.
The participants ensured the dignity of the constitution and took pledge alongside to achieve unity and integrity of the nation.
