AIIMS Jammu Hosts First-Ever Workshop on Crime Scene Recreation and Firearm Death Investigation for J&K Police
Department of Forensic Medicine Conducts First Ever Workshop on “After Crime, Scene Recreation and Training in Solving Fire Arm Murders Cases”, for the J&K Police ,on 29th November at AIIMS Jammu.
The workshop was Inaugurated by ED & CEO Dr ShaktiKumar Gupta and Professor Dr Dinesh Rao and was preceded over by GR Bharadwaj(SP) and Mr Rominish Gupta[SSP]. A Toal of 100officers had participated consisting of 20Dysps,25Inspectors and 60SubInspectors from the Jammu,Samba and Udhampur, Police Academy.
Professor Dr Dinesh Rao,HOD,Forensic Medicne,AIIMS Jammu Trained the Officers on the Examination of the Crime Scene and Collection of Evidences and he also Explained the Standard Operating Procedures for Investigating Firearm Deaths. Professor Dr Dinesh Rao, highlighted the importance of Bod Bags in shifting the Dead from the Crime Scene and at the same time impressed upon the Fact the Examination of evidence and Processing the Crime scene and its importance in the Prosecution.
This After Crime, Scene Recreation and Training is first of its kind in the Country wherein a Crime reported[Kisthwar VDGs Murder[ was taken as a background and the same was recreated and reviewed on the Investigation aspects besides highlighting the methods methods adopted in Zeroing on the Accused.
The Officers expressed their Satisfaction and Requested the Professor Dr Rao for more such Interactions in the interest of Efficient Investigations and Justice Delivery. It may be reminded that the Department of Forensic Medicine,AIIMS ,Jammu has Started with the Autopsy services on 27th September 2024 and is well equipped to handle Expert Work on Death Investigation from across the J&K and assist the Police in all Death Investigation and Crime Scene Examination.
