District Child Protection Unit Leh screens short film on the POCSO Act at GHSS Leh

Leh, December 5, 2024: The District Child Protection Unit, Leh, CWC, JJB, and CHL, organized the official screening of a short film on the POCSO Act, scripted and directed by Ka Tsetan Angchuk and his team an event at Girls Higher Secondary School, Leh. The film provided a meaningful platform to educate children and raise societal awareness on this sensitive yet crucial topic.

The event was attended by Tashi Dolma, Director of Social and Tribal Welfare Department, Leh UT Ladakh, and Inzar Rana, District Child Protection Officer/District Social Welfare Officer, Leh, Kunzang Dolma Prinicpal GHSS Leh.

Before the screening, Tashi Dolma, member of CWC, offered a detailed explanation of the POCSO Act. Following the film, another short visual on the Mission Vatsalya Scheme was screened highlighting the importance of sponsorship, foster care, and CHL initiatives.

This event was seen as another step towards breaking taboos and building a safer society for children.  The District Child Protection Unit remains committed to serving and empowering children for a brighter future.
