FICCI FLO JKL Unveils “WeFLO” – Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh’s First All-Women Job Portal, Powered by MIET

Jammu, December 7, 2024: In a significant step towards women’s empowerment, FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh (JKL) unveiled WeFLO, the region’s first all-women job portal, at a press conference held at Taj Vivanta today. Powered by MIET, this innovative platform is designed to connect women job seekers from urban and rural areas with credible employers at no cost, reaffirming FICCI FLO JKL’s dedication to creating sustainable opportunities and fostering economic independence for women.

The portal’s official launch is scheduled for December 23, 2024, and it promises to bridge the gap between women seeking jobs and industries or businesses committed to hiring women. By serving as a credible and free platform, WeFLO embodies FLO’s mission of enabling women to become self-reliant and thrive in today’s dynamic workforce.

Speaking at the press conference, Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson of FICCI FLO JKL, stressed the transformative potential of the initiative:
“For India to realize its vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, it is essential for women to emerge as equal contributors to the country’s economic progress. WeFLO is not just a technological platform; it is a movement aimed at ensuring economic inclusion, providing women with the tools and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the economy.”

She appealed to industries, corporates, and businesses to demonstrate their support for diversity and inclusivity by uploading women-specific vacancies on the portal. She emphasized that organizations participating in this initiative would be duly recognized and felicitated for their commitment to empowering women.

Gratitude was extended to the government and the Department of Industries for their invaluable support, and Ruchika Gupta urged the private sector to join hands with FLO in building a thriving ecosystem for equal-opportunity employment.

The press conference also saw the presence of FICCI FLO JKL’s core leadership team, including Varuna Anand (Immediate Past Chairperson), Varsha Bansal (Vice Chairperson), Sona Mehta (Treasurer), and Nandita Bajaj (Joint Executive Secretary), who pledged their unwavering support to the initiative.

The WeFLO portal is envisioned as a pivotal tool in promoting gender-inclusive hiring practices, enabling women to overcome barriers and actively participate in the workforce. It provides a platform for women to connect with employers who value diversity and inclusion, thereby creating a ripple effect of empowerment and economic growth.
