JKWDC holds awareness camp, loan Mela at Kupwara

Raises awareness on government-sponsored initiatives to ensure equitable access to financial support for women


KUPWARA, DECEMBER 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC) in collaboration with the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India Saturday organized a one-day awareness camp and loan mela at BHSS, Nagri, Kupwara.


The event, held in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department Kupwara, attracted over 300 women participants, eager to learn about welfare schemes, financial opportunities, and empowerment programs tailored to support women from backward classes. The initiative aimed to equip women with the knowledge and resources needed for self-reliance and economic independence.


Prominent dignitaries graced the occasion, including District Manager JKWDC Kupwara, District Manager Shopian-Kulgam, District Manager SC/ST Kupwara, Principal of Boys Higher Secondary School Nagri, and Women Welfare Officer Kupwara. Their insights and encouragement motivated attendees to leverage the available resources for their personal and professional growth.


This camp reaffirmed the commitment of JKWDC and NBCFDC to fostering women’s empowerment, financial inclusion, and social justice in Jammu and Kashmir. By highlighting government-sponsored initiatives, the program aimed to bridge the gaps and ensure equitable access to financial support for women in the region.
