BJP devoted to Atal ji’s vision, won’t allow vested interests to distort it: BJP
Atal ji was a multi-faceted personality who justified his name in the real sense of the word. He was Atal- Persistent, Steadfast and Uncompromising, stated, Spokespersons, J&K BJP.
Adv. Sunil Sethi, Chief Spokesperson, and Arun Gupta, Spokesperson, J&K BJP were also present in the Press Conference addressed by GL Raina, at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Sunil Sethi emphasized that BJP is following the vision and politics of Atal ji of Insaniyat, Jamhoriyat, and Kashmiryat for people irrespective of any distinction while political parties who enjoyed power with Atal ji denied these by excluding minority Hindu Community in Kashmir from its ambit. He stressed these principles cannot be applied to terrorists and criminals sent across by neighbor. They are to be crushed, he added.
Girdhari Lal Raina said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is devoted to Atal ji’s vision, and won’t allow vested interests to distort it for their narrow political dreams.
“Atal Ji, being firm in his convictions, his views on almost every issue of national importance including Jammu Kashmir were accommodative and flexible but uncompromising on the basic premise. Unity, integrity, democracy, and civilizational ethos were paramount for him”, said GL Raina.
He specifically pointed out those politicians who every now and then use the name of Atal ji according to their political comforts, while advising them to study the character and life of Atal ji and his vision to achieve peace and progress in Kashmir.
“He was a wanderer, explorer, and voyager on an untiring journey to explore newer vistas of human existence giving expression to emotions in a fabulous manner in the form of poems, lectures, parliamentary debates, etc.”, he said.
People with limited understanding and narrow political interests mistook it as perhaps softness or inconsistency. Even a cursory look at his political life and stand on issues reveals that while he was ready to accommodate divergent viewpoints to a possible extent but remained firm when confronted with difficult choices.
We see Vajpayee ji visiting Lahore in a Bus to give peace a chance. He even visited Minar-e-Pakistan for this purpose. But when back-stabbed he ensured that obstinate adversary is taught a lesson for a lifetime. He declined an invitation from President Clinton to visit Washington to discuss the conflict in Kashmir (Kargil War). He invited Pervez Musharraf to Agra for peace talks but sent him back unsolicited and without remorse.
Atal ji’s love for Jammu and Kashmir is well known. He tried to bring together diverse opinions into a mutual understanding for the resolution of all remaining issues confronting the people of J&K. But He was clear in elucidating his stand.
