3-Day Gojri Literary & Cultural Festival commences at JKAACL Jammu

JAMMU, 2 March 2023: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) has successfully begun today with a 3-Day Gojri Literary and Cultural Festival at JKAACL premises in Jammu.

The Festival was inaugurated Abdul Ghani Kohli , Former Minister , J&K Government in the presence of Smt. Neha Jalali, IIS, Joint Director Publication Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.

At the outset, Dr. Shahnawaz, Head Gojri Wing, JKAACL Welcomed the guests on behalf of Sh. Bharat Singh (JKAS), Secretary JKAACL. He stated that there is a great flow of Cultural and literary activities since Bharat Singh joined JKAACL.

He further added that the Gojri Section is doing laudable under the supervision of the Secretary, JKAACL The chief Guest of the occasion Neha Jalali in her address said that the JKAACL is doing remarkable job for the upliftment of art, culture and Languages of the J&K U.T . After this Abdul Ghani Kohli gave his precedential
address in which he appreciated the efforts of Secretary, JKAACL in promoting Gojri literature and culture along with other languages of J&K .

After this Gojri folk songs were presented by renowned artist Bashir Mastana and his Party which was highly appreciated by the audience. This was followed by the colourful presentation of Gojri songs by Razia Ashraf , Parveena Choudhary and Rashid Ashraf and Party . They mesmerised the audience with their melodious
voices.

This was followed by the short story Session in which Dr MIRZA khan waqaar and Shekh Azad Ahmed Azad presented their Gojri short stories. After this M.Mansha Khaki presented research Paper on “ Life and Contributions of Great Sufi saint Mian Bashir Ahmad Larvi”, an autobiography of Gujjar Saint Sufi Hazrat Baji
Alif Din RA authored by Sh. Abdul Hameed Kasana and Baji Khurseehd Ahmad , Chief Palning officer was released on the Occasion.

Dr. Rattan Basotra, Editor Dogri, JKAACL presented Vote of thanks .The inaugural session was conducted by Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor Cum Cultural Officer , Gojri, JKAACL.

After lunch the Poetry Session the poets who presented their poetry were Abdul Ghani Pardasi, Bashrat Ahmed Nazak,Shakeel Ahmed Rahi, Mohd Aslam Kathana, M.Rafi Shabnam , Shabaz Waseem, Talib Hussain Talib, M.Farooq Kalas, Nissar Hussain, Tayab Raza Jalani, Maqsood Ahmed , Naqashband , Naseem Akhtar,
Zafar Iqbal, Mumtaz Ahmed Mumtaz and Tariq Faheem.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor Cum Cultural Officer , Gojri, JKAACL.
