7 day Training Program on scientific beekeeping commences at CAO Office Kishtwar  

KISHTWAR, JANUARY 22: The Agriculture Department Kishtwar today started seven day training programme for Officers/Officials on “scientific beekeeping” under National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM), The training course has been organised under the directions of Arvinder Singh Reen, Director Agriculture Jammu and under the supervision of   Rajesh Kumar Shavan, District Development Commissioner.

Chief Agriculture Officer Amjad Hussain Malik presided over the inaugural session witnessing the participation of more than 40 KUs and Officers/Officials of the Agriculture dept.

In his inaugural address, Chief Agriculture Officer urged the field functionaries to promote Bee Keeping under government schemes like HADP for upliftment of income level of the farming community and increase of production of honey at commercial level.

On the first day, the lectures on the importance of Scientific Beekeeping and Apiary management, Role of honey bees in pollination of crops, and basics about Honey bees were delivered.

The programme was attended by District Agriculture Officer, SMS-DL, SDAO of Marwah & Paddar beside AEOs, JAEOs and other field functionaries of the Agriculture Department.
