MLA Kathua hails Union govt. over extension to National Health Mission
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Member Legislative Assembly, Kathua, has hailed the extension of the National Health Mission for another five years, terming it an indicative of the concern of Union Government towards providing healthcare facilities to the people of the country.
He hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi & Union Health Minister for extending the operation of National Health Mission scheme for another five years. He stated that National Health Mission which is the amalgamation of National Rural Health Mission and National Urban Health Mission, has played a significant role in enhancing the reach of Health services in the country besides providing employment opportunities to over 1.5 million doctors, paramedics and other health services providers.
The NHM has played a significant role in providing essential healthcare to the needy and particularly in the vaccination process during covid-19 and helped in saving millions of lives, he said.
The MLA also hailed the National Health Mission in reducing infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate.
MLA further stated that under Modi govt., the health sector has got a major boost and Medical Colleges have been established in Kathua, Doda, Rajouri and other Districts besides setting up the prestigious health institution like AIIMS in Vijaypur.
He stated that extended NHM will give further fillip to the health sector, provide accessible healthcare to people besides providing employment to a large number of doctors, paramedics and other health care providers.
