DC Doda launches fruit plantation drive in Assar
Horticulture deptt targets to cover 200 Hectare land
DODA, March 4: A fruit trees plantation drive campaign was today launched in Assar Sub Division to promote horticulture activities in the area.
The Drive signaled off by District Development Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan in the presence of Chief Horticulture Officer, Rakesh Kotwal from Ganota Assar.
Plantation drive of fruit plants is being carried out by the Horticulture department in the district under the CAPEX scheme 2022-23.
The Department has set a target to bring 200 Hectare land brought under plantation in the current financial year. Besides, an area of 50 hectare land will be covered under high density plantation of Apple, Peach, Plum, Pear and Walnut, informed the Chief Horticulture Officer, while briefing about the drive.
The DC appealed farmers to opt for fruit trees Plantation for better livelihood, improvement of air quality, production of healthy food, sustaining ecosystem for birds/ animals, and promotion of green enthusiasm.
