Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme Inaugurated at SMVDU

One-week-long entrepreneurial skill development programme inaugurated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. During the inaugural function, Chief Guest Shri. Sat Pal Abrol, Director of Palawan’s group, J&K, emphasized the consistency of work and quality orientation for the success of a startup venture. He mentioned that for the success of business, honesty is the foremost requirement as it helps to maintain the brand in the market.

On the other hand, Professor Javir Ali, IIM Jammu, highlights the significance of startup ecosystems and entrepreneurial competencies in the success of any entrepreneur. During the function, Professor. Ashutosh Vashishtha, Dean of the Faculty of Management, explained the role of a business incubation centre and dynamic business environment. Earlier, program coordinator Professor Supran Kumar Sharma explained the different activities to be conducted during this week-long program, including case study analysis, interaction with successful entrepreneurs, factory visits, role plays, etc.


In this program everyday four sessions will be conducted by experts from industry as well as academia. The program is focused on inculcating entrepreneurial skills amongst students of different streams, including BBA, MBA, B.Tech., etc. This program is being conducted with a financial grant under the PM-USHA scheme.

Professor (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor SMVDU, conveyed his best wishes to the participants for better learning and honing their skills in the different domains of startup and entrepreneurship.  Dr. Sunanda, Head SoCSE, SMVDU, offered a vote of thanks. Dr. Sanjay Mohan, CEO of TBIC SMVDU, gave a brief on the different activities of TBIC SMVDU.
