International Seminar Concludes at Central University of Jammu
Jammu, 25th February 2025: The Department of Hindi and Other Indian Languages at the Central University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), North-Western Regional Centre, Punjab University, Chandigarh, successfully concluded a two-day international seminar on the theme “Hindi Literature of Jammu & Kashmir in the Light of Indian Knowledge Traditions and Culture.”

The first session of the second day was chaired by Dr. Amit Gupta, Assistant Professor at the Comparative Religion Study Centre. The session was conducted by Dr. Shashikant Mishra, Associate Professor in the department. The session began with a welcome speech by Prof. Bharat Bhushan, Head of the Department of Hindi and Other Indian Languages. A total of 5 scholars participated directly and 9 scholars and professors presented their research papers virtually.
The speakers included Dr. Aarti Pathak from Kalindi College, Delhi University, Dr. Chandan Kumar, Assistant Professor at Patliputra University, Patna, Suman Bala (research scholar) from the Hindi Department, Haryana Central University, Meenakshi Giri (research scholar) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Punit Kumar (research scholar), Hindi Department, Haryana Central University, Kumar Vishwamanagal (research scholar) from Haryana Central University, Dr. Rajesh V. Chaurpagar, Assistant Professor at Swargiya B.S. Arts College, Prof. N.G. Science & A.G. Commerce College, Sakharkherda, Sonali (research scholar) from Delhi University, Dr. Ashok Kumar from Yash College of Education, Roorkee, along with research scholars Anshu Kumari, Indradevi, Shivali, Roshni, and Suman Kumar from the department.
At the end of the seminar, Dr. Shashikant Mishra, the seminar coordinator, presented the report of the two-day international seminar. Certificates were distributed to the paper presenters.
It is important to note that the papers presented during the seminar have been compiled into a book titled “Hindi Literature and Culture of Jammu & Kashmir”, which was released during the inauguration of the seminar.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by the Head of the Department and the National Anthem.
