Impressive Shobha Yatra taken out on eve of Maha Shivratri

‘Dharmarth Trust makes seamless arrangements for devotees in all Shiva Temples & Shrines’

JAMMU, Feb 25: Brig R.S Langeh (Retd), President and Ashok Kumar Sharma, Secretary of J&K Dharmarth Trust today participated in the Shobha Yatra taken out on the eve of Maha Shivratri at Shree Ranbireshwar Temple, Jammu.

Earlier, the President and Secretary performed Puja Archana and other rituals at the Ranbireshwar Mandir.

Interacting with media persons, the Trust’s President greeted the people of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri. He said K Dharmarth Trust has made all necessary arrangements across the temples and shrines falling under its purview for Maha Shivratri festival.  “Under the able guidance of Hon’ble Chairman Trustee, Dr. Karan Singh and other Trustees, the Trust has made commendable efforts in ensuring a seamless experience for devotees visiting the temples and shrines falling under its purview.”

He said several ancient and prominent temples like Umapati Mahadev Temple in Purmandal, Ranbirsingheshwar, Abbhimukteshwar Temples in Utterbehni, Shankaracharya Temple Srinagar, Raghunath ji Temple, Jammu, Shri Ranbireshwar Temple, Sudh Mahadev, Mantalai, Shiv Temple Nagrota, and Shiv Temple Satwari have all been prepared meticulously to accommodate the influx of devotees during this auspicious occasion.

Secretary Ashok Kumar Sharma said that the celebration of this festival is a valuable part of our glorious cultural heritage symbolizing the values of piety, devotion and brotherhood. He also expressed the hope that the celebrations of this auspicious occasion would further strengthen the communal harmony of J&K and also prayed for tranquillity and prosperity in the UT and well-being of the people.

The Secretary invited devotees from across the Union Territory to join the vibrant and spiritually uplifting celebrations of Maha Shivratri in the Dharmarth Trust Temples and Shrines. In addition to the meticulously prepared temples, there will also be various cultural and spiritual programs including Langars organized throughout the day, providing a truly enriching experience for all who participate, he added.

The Shobha Yatra was organized by Onkar Sharma (Nandi Ji), President of Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee (SRMWC) in collaboration with J&K Dharmarth Trust on the eve of Maha Shivratri Festival.

The Shobha Yatra commenced from Shri Ranbireshwar Temple and after passing through all main Bazaars of the old city viz. Indira Chowk, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazaar Chowk , Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk, Old Hospital Road, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Mubarak Mandi, Upper Bazaar, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar, Parade Chowk finally culminated again at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple.

People and saints from different areas of the city, participated in the huge procession, which consisted of tableau depicting mythical scenes and events related to the marriage of Bhagwan Shiva with Parvati.

Tight security arrangements were ensured by the District Administration across the city for the smooth conduct of Shobha Yatra.
