DLSA Rajouri organises Legal awareness program on Constitutional, Legal safeguards available to Women
RAJOURI, March 06: As part of Pan India Program on Legal Awareness launched by National Commission for Women (NCW) in collaboration with NALSA from 4th of March, 2023 to 11thMarch, 2023 and also under the directions of J&K Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Rajouri today organized Legal Awareness program on ’Constitutional as well as Legal safeguards available to Women’’ and ‘’Role of District Legal Services Authority in addressing the grievances of women.’’
The Awareness event was held in the Conference Hall of District Police Line, Rajouri. Secretary DLSA Rajouri Wajahat Kazmi; Shivangi Kant Advocate, Legal Officer, DCPU, Rajouri and Priksha Sharma, Social Worker, Special Cell for Women, Women Police Station, Rajouri acted as resource persons in the program.
The Secretary DLSA highlighted the importance of International Women’s Day in light of the provisions of Legal Services Authority Act 1987.
Advocate Shivangi Kant spoke on the Role & functions of District Legal Services Authorities, particularly District Legal Services Authority, Rajouri. Priksha Sharma deliberated on the Constitutional as well as Legal Safeguards available to Women under different legislations.
Secretary DLSA Rajouri Wajahat Kazmi also highlighted the importance of International Women’s Day in light of the provisions of Legal Services Authority Act 1987.
The program was attended by Nazma Sheikh, Gender Specialist District Hub for Women Empowerment, Rajouri and Suksham Sharma, Case Worker, One Stop Centre for Women, Rajouri , Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Rajouri and approximately 80 women participated.
