DC Reasi chairs RTA meeting

REASI, MARCH 19: Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik today convened a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) to review applications for different route permits across the district Reasi.

The meeting focused on discussing various matters related to public transport in the district and sanctioning of route permits.

During the meeting, the DC, who also serves as the chairman of the Regional Transport Authority, along with other members, meticulously reviewed applications for road permits. A total of 16 applications were received for local route permits, of which 6 applications were approved, 2 were deferred and 8 were rejected.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasised that an extra fleet of minibuses and cabs added in the district will provide a smooth and comfortable travelling experience to the people especially living in far flung areas of the district.

During the meeting the DC also urged the Motor Vehicle Department and Traffic Department to ensure proper traffic regulation and take necessary action against violators, underscoring the commitment to maintaining order on the roads.
