How to Solve Puzzle Doors in Hogwarts Legacy
Let’s break it down step-by-step in the simplest way possible:
Step 1: Understand the Symbols
Around the door, you’ll see 10 magical symbols. Each symbol represents a number from 0 to 9. For example:
- A Unicorn = 1
- A Spider = 8
- And so on…
You can find a full chart showing the symbol-to-number key in a chest near the Divination Classroom, but honestly, you don’t need it once you get the hang of it.
Step 2: Look at the Equations
When you interact with the door, you’ll see a triangle with three numbers or symbols. Two of the spots are filled in, and one has a ? or ??.
Your job is to figure out which symbol goes in the ? spot so that the three values add up to the number in the middle.
For example:
- Middle number: 11
- Outer numbers: 2 and a Spider (which is 8)
- You’re missing a 1, so the answer is the Unicorn (which = 1)
Step 3: Use the Dials
Nearby (sometimes in the same room, or close by), you’ll find two little triangle dials, one with ? and one with ??. Turn them until they show the correct symbols that solve the two math puzzles on the door.
- The ? dial always uses even numbers or 0
- The ?? dial always uses odd numbers
