District Administration Jammu holds IEC campaigns under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan in ULBs
JAMMU, APRIL 17: Under the guidance of District Magistrate Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, the District Administration today organized a series of awareness programs across multiple urban local bodies as part of the ongoing IEC campaign under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan.

A major event was held at Community Hall, Ward No. 10, Mill Area, R.S. Pura, coordinated by Naib Tehsildar Sushil Kumar Sharma. Over 250 participants, including students, teachers, social workers and local residents, attended the program that focused on educating the public about the dangers of substance abuse.
The campaign featured sessions from the police, health, education, and social welfare departments. SHO R.S. Pura highlighted the legal consequences under the NDPS Act, while Dr. Ruchika Raina from the Health Department explained the physical and psychological effects of drugs. Lecturer Sohan Singh Chib discussed types of drugs, causes of addiction, and rehabilitation options. Social leaders Satpal Pappi and Shashi Uttam emphasized community involvement and the role of sports in prevention.
Participants pledged to fight drug abuse and promote awareness in their communities.
Similar awareness programs were also held at Mahajan Hall Akhnoor, Ramleela Ground Gangyal and Ghou Manhasan, where street plays and expert talks drew strong public response.
