Rattan Lal Gupta hits back at BJP’s Misinformation Campaign, Reaffirms NC’s Stand on Article 370

Jammu, April 18: Countering the baseless allegations and fabricated narrative spun by BJP leaders, Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has strongly criticized the BJP for running a politics based on falsehood and deceit.

Reacting to the recent statements made by BJP Chief Spokesperson, Rattan Lal Gupta said, “The BJP thrives on a fake and fabricated narrative, and this is yet another desperate attempt to divert attention from its colossal failures in J&K.”

Taking a strong exception to the reference made to former RAW chief A.S. Dulat’s recent book, Rattan Lal said the BJP is deliberately twisting facts to suit their agenda. “Mr. Dulat himself has publicly clarified and denied making any such statement that would imply Great leader endorsed the abrogation of Article 370. It is shameful that the BJP is now relying on half-baked interpretations of a book to malign a Great NC leader stature,” he stated.

The Provincial President reiterated that the National Conference’s stance has always been consistent and unambiguous. “Our motto has always been clear—restoration of Article 370 and the special rights of the people of J&K. No propaganda can dilute our resolve. The National Conference will continue to fight—democratically, constitutionally and resolutely—for the rights that were snatched from us on August 5, 2019.”

Questioning the BJP’s doublespeak, Rattan Lal Gupta further reiterated the demand of the people for the restoration of Statehood as promised by Prime Minister of India and Home Minister of India on the floor of the house. Despite claiming normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir on multiple occasions, he asked BJP leadership about the reasons behind delaying statehood to J&K, terming it as a betrayal with the public.

He further added that the people of J&K are well aware of the BJP’s duplicity. “On one hand, they claim a new era of development post abrogation, and on the other hand, they have failed to bring back statehood, or restore democratic rights to the people. Who is running a double-sided narrative now?”

The Provincial President affirmed that no misinformation campaign can erase the history of struggle and sacrifice made by the National Conference for the dignity, identity, and constitutional rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Truth shall prevail, and NC will always stand with the people and will continue its fight in restoring the special rights of J&K people.”
