India puts Indus Water Treaty in abeyance, Closes Wagah Attari border among other major decisions announced by MEA post Pahalgam attaxk
In a major diplomatic escalation, India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) following a high-level Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting after the Pahalgam terror attaxk. The MEA also announced the immediate closure of the Wagah-Attari border and a halt to the issuance of visas to Pakistani nationals. Additionally, India is withdrawing its diplomats from Pakistani missions, and Pakistani Army advisors currently in India have been declared persona non grata. These sweeping measures were outlined by the Foreign Secretary during a media briefing.
