DLSA Shopian organises awareness programme
SHOPIAN, APRIL 26: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian in collaboration with Education Department Shopian today organized an awareness programme on NALSA (Legal Services to Victims of Acid Attack) Scheme, 2016 at GHSS Shopian.

The awareness programme was held under the guidance of Chairman DLSA Shopian, Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary and the supervision of Secretary DLSA Mudasar Farooq.
The program aimed to raise awareness among the participants about the provisions and benefits of the NALSA Scheme, 2016.
Addressing the programme, Secretary DLSA emphasized the importance of legal aid services and support to victims of acid attacks.
He highlighted the various provisions of the NALSA scheme, aimed to protect and empower victims.
Chief LADC Shopian, Rafiq Ahmed highlighted the objectives of the program and the importance of awareness about rights of Acid victim to claim compensation from the accused as well as from State through DLSA.
Deputy LADC, Shahnawaz Raina emphasized the paramount role played by DLSA regarding the compensation of victims & Supreme Court guidelines for prohibition sale of chemical substance.
He also emphasized the importance of free Medical support in the Hospitals to the victims.
Assistant LADC, Meenu Jan also stressed upon the fair and dignified treatment of Acid Attack victims as per the article 21 of constitution.
The program among others was attended by PLVs, Teachers and students.
