“Come forward to deport all illegal immigrants”: BJP’s Raghunandan Rao

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 27 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Raghunandan Rao has met with Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender to discuss the issue of immigrants residing in the State and the Medak Lok Sabha constituency. He said that there should be searches for immigrants residing in Madrasas, and the police must come forward to deport all those residing illegally.
“The police should search for immigrants coming from other countries in Madrasas, located in my district and the whole of Telangana. What purpose do they have here?” Rao told ANI.
The BJP leader apprised of many issues that have occurred in the past few days, with a hint of religious conflict, stating that the police must respond as soon as they receive complaints. He said that the police must take action against illegal immigrants to deport them.
“In Medak Lok Sabha constituency, there have been issues happening…in every issue, we can see the failure of the police there. If they respond as soon as they receive the complaint, the situation will not be that bad…you should come forward to deport all the illegal immigrants like Rohingyas, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis…The DGP responded positively to my request,” Rao added.
This comes amid heightened tensions and security concerns over the deadly Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists, and left many injured.
In a massive statewide crackdown, over 550 illegal immigrants from Bangladesh were detained in Ahmedabad and Surat for residing in India with forged documents, Gujarat police said on Saturday.
Deportation proceedings will follow once verification and interrogation are complete, said the official.
The coordinated operations were led by multiple law enforcement units, including the Special Operations Group (SOG), Crime Branch, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), Prevention of Crime Branch (PCB), and local police teams. Officials confirmed that all detained individuals were in India without valid documentation and had used fake papers to establish residence.
In Surat, an overnight combing operation carried out jointly by SOG, DCB, AHTU, PCB, and local police resulted in the detention of more than 100 Bangladeshi nationals. “They had entered India illegally and were living in Surat with forged documents. After the investigation, they will be deported to Bangladesh,” said Rajdeep Singh Nakum, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Operations Group.
In Jaisalmer, more than 6,000 Pakistani citizens live on long-term visas, while Rajasthan has 20,000. They have been intimated by the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) and other concerned departments about the government orders, stating that they might have to leave India. (ANI)
