GDC Mahanpur inaugurates one-week long Winter ‘NSS Camp’
KATHUA December 26: The NSS Unit of GDC Mahanpur today inaugurated a One-Week long Winter “NSS Camp” that will take place from the 24th of December, 2022 to 31st of December, 2022.
The aim of this Camp is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service. The programme initiated with the lighting of the lamp. It was organized by the Prof. Meena Devi, NSS Programme Officer under the supervision and able guidance of Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College.
The Camp was initiated by Prof. Meena Devi, NSS Programme Officer. She briefed about the various activities that will conducted during one week long “NSS” Camp in collaboration with the various departments of the College along with IQAC cell.
The programme was started with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College gave the key note address. In his address, she enlightened the students not only about the value of community service for their overall development but also motivated and inspired them for active participation for the welfare of the nation. Dr. Balbindar Singh, IQAC Convenor also addressed the NSS volunteers. He not only gave the brief history of NSS but also discussed its relevance in the present times for the young students.
Prof. Meena Devi, NSS Programme Officer gave a detailed lecture about the National Service Scheme (NSS).NSS volunteers of the College discussed in detail about the various aspects of National Service Scheme (NSS). Mukesh Thakur, a student of 5th semester gave the Introduction of the National Service Scheme (NSS). Rekha Rani (5th semester) discussed in detail about the coverage, motto and symbol of National Service Scheme (NSS).
The aims and objectives of NSS was given by Som Raj (5th semester). The importance of NSS was dealt in detail by Zakir Hussain (3rd Semester). Diksha Devi (3rd Semester) discussed the financial arrangement of NSS as well as briefed about the activities undertaken by NSS. Moreover, Arti Devi (3rd Semester) discussed the NSS awards and Gulab Nabi (5th Semester) gave the Conclusion.
The faculty members who were present in the Inaugural programme were Prof. Arvind Kumar,Sh. Saurabh Dutta, Dr. Parshottam Dass, Prof. Rupalee Jasrotia, Dr. Neetika Verma, Dr. Ajay Manhas and Ms. Rafia. The entire event was hosted by Prof. Rupalee Jasrotia.
