Rally on World Water Day organised by GCW Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, March 23: The NSS units of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar organised an awareness rally at their adopted villages, Jaralan Chak and Kanhal, of tehsil Bishnah today under the banner of the college’s G20 Club. 

The rally was flagged off by Principal, Prof Minu Mahajan; Convenor G20 Club, Prof SS Parihar and other faculty members. 51 volunteers participated in this awareness activity under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers, Prof Mala Bhasin and Dr Monika Hans.

The volunteers actively participated in door-to-door campaigns and interacted with villagers about the wise use of various water resources. Sarpanch Jitendra Singh also participated in the rally and discussed the water resources of Chak Jaralan and Kanhal with the volunteers.

Prof Minu Mahajan applauded the volunteers for their participation and encouraged them to continue being part of such activities. She emphasised the necessity of taking strict action against the global water crisis and inspired volunteers to take appropriate steps to control issues like water pollution, water scarcity and sanitation of water resources. She appreciated the efforts of NSS POs for organising this awareness Rally in the adopted villages.
