DC Ramban chairs District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee meeting
RAMBAN, March 28: A meeting of the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam to finalise the action plan for saturation of Aadhaar Cards and mandatory biometric update in all age groups.
The Deputy Commissioner discussed strategy for timely Aadhaar enrollment of children in the 0–5-year age group. He directed to launch special camps and mass awareness campaigns in educational institutions to push the saturation process further. The Deputy Commissioner also directed all the stakeholder departments and agencies to motivate residents to enrol children below 5 years for Aadhaar enrollment and to get Mandatory Biometric Updates done after attaining the age of 5 years and 15 years.
The Deputy Commissioner urged people to get their children enrolled for Aadhaar Linked Birth registration at delivery centres. Terming the Aadhaar enrollment a multi-agency process, he called upon all concerned departments to saturate the remaining Aadhaar enrollment process in the district besides launching mass awareness campaigns in their jurisdictions to cover all population under Aadhaar enrollment. He stressed that progress of Aadhaar enrollment target of children between 0-5 years and 5-18 years must be achieved cent percent in a time-bound manner.
