Horticulture Planning & Marketing Ramban organises awareness camp under PMFME
RAMBAN, March 28: Chairperson, District Development Council, Dr Shamshad Shan and Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam presided over an awareness camp on the Prime Minister’s Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme in the district administrative complex today.
On the occasion, Area Marketing Officer, Sunil Bakshi gave detailed awareness to farmers and PRI members about the scheme and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes. He also imparted awareness regarding processing, grading and packaging under the PMFME Scheme. More stress was given on walnut apple and pickle processing & benefits thereof.
Resource Persons from the Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries departments educated them on various related schemes such as Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, Dairy or Poultry Farming, Integrated Dairy Development Scheme and Integrated Poultry Development Project. Assistant General Manager Operations, Raju Zutshi trained participants on packaging and branding of Agriculture/Horticulture products for more benefits.
Members of FPOs and Cooperative Societies of progressive growers installed stalls where they displayed their educational material and produce which were inspected by the Chairperson and DC.
Assistant Director Employment, Dr Sushant Mahajan, District Development Manager NABARD, Arushi Sharma and officers of other allied departments participated in the camp and imparted awareness to growers regarding their departmental schemes.
