The Art of Living Workshop Organised By the Gandhain Centre For Peace & Conflict Studies Concludes at Balgran
JAMMU , March 30- The four-day Art of Living workshop UTKARSHA YOGA organised by the Gandhian Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies and Art of Living Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh concludes at Balgran, Jammu.
Utkarsha Yoga is a meticulously designed program by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar exclusively for the children.The program focuses on all round development of children in a holistic way. The breathing techniques taught in the program gives the children the essential tools to overcome negative emotions such as fear, shyness, nervousness, anxiety, frustration, jealousy etc. easily. Nearly seventy children attended the workshop and received the training. During the workshop the children were trained in yoga, pranayam, surya namaskar, bhastrika, bharamari and Sudarshan kriya meditation.
The children also learnt the five keys of wisdom which are useful for overall development of the children. Besides this, the soft skills were also imparted to the students such as communication skills, public speaking, mind management, time management, eating and sleeping habits, control over emotions in a play way method. After attending the workshop children shared their experiences and felt happy after having got trained through different techniques of meditation Sudarshan kriya . The workshop was conducted by two senior Art of living teachers Anju Gupta and Dr Anuja Jasrotia and assisted by dedicated team of AOL teachers and volunteers Sunny,Ranjoy Anjali and Jogeswar.
Dr Seema Rohmetra, Director, Gandhian Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Jammu in her valedictory address highlighted the role of such workshops in moulding the character of young students.Such initiatives can indeed go a long way in contributing towards stress free and violence free societies, she said. She further added that to make such workshops a success in the real sense of the term, it’s important to have the follow up sessions. So it was decided during the closing ceremony that Madam Anju Gupta, assisting volunteer faculty from AOL will be taking follow up sessions on alternate Saturdays to make a positive impact on the young minds.
Ajay Kapoor state Coordinator – Art of Living Bureau of communications and Projects coordinated the event. He in his address said “The entire program is playful, effortless, engaging and fun-filled, all exercises and processes are designed specifically for this age group which gives them a chance to express, involve and learn by experience.Among others who attended the closing ceremony included…Dr. Sapna Sangra, Dr Shubha Vats, Dr Monica Narang, Dr. Mrinalini Atrey, Dr.RenuJamwal, RajanSalalia STP, and senior faculty from AOL namely Prabha Salathia, Ajay Gupta, Suman Sharma, Kukdeep Sharma, TuhinaSalalia and Jai Aggarwal.
