FCS&CA Deptt conducts Market Checking at Baramulla

Fine Realized on Shopkeepers for Violating Legal Regulations

BARAMULLA, March 30:  In order to ensure the quality and price control besides keeping vigil on erring traders, a market checking team of Flying Squad Enforcement Wing FCS&CA Baramulla today  conducted a massive Market Checking at various locations of Baramulla town.

The drive was conducted across the district as per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla,  Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar after reports that some erring traders and shopkeepers are charging exorbitant rates dealing with different consumable items.

During the inspection, the checking team realized a fine of Rs 11400 on various shopkeepers for violating the legal regulations at the main market Baramulla. They also destroyed contaminated vegetables and spices.

On the occasion, Flying Squad Enforcement Wing FCS&CA Baramulla reiterated that a drive has been conducted in order to ensure the quality and price control besides keeping vigil on erring traders. It was said that such drives will be conducted on a routine basis so that quality of commodities is ensured. 

Meanwhile, all the traders were urged not to violate the rules and were directed for displaying the rate lists at their respective trade centres.
