Nowshera Forest Division conducts forest fire mock drill at Sunderbani Forest Range
RAJOURI, April 05: The Sunderbani Forest Range of the Nowshera Forest Division conducted a forest fire mock drill at Bindi Top under the guidance of Conservator of Forests (West Circle Rajouri), Vivek Verma today.
During the drill, all components of forest fires were discussed in detail and staffwere trained on various first aid processes such as bandaging for fractures, snake bites and wild animal bites. Staff were also trained on the preparation of emergency structures using local materials and the use of various fire equipment.
Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera, Satyendra Maurya said that mock drills are conducted to sensitise front line staff about equipment, procedures, first aid and prevention and control of forest fires. He added that temperatures are rising and staff need to be prepared and alert.
Range Forest Officer, Rakesh Verma discussed historical forest fire points and asked staff to study them in detail and submit a detailed report so that an early strategy can be prepared for prevention and control of forest fires at these points.
Block Officer Devak, Ved Parkash explained his experience on prevention and control of forest fires in detail. Block Officer Sunderbani, Rangeel Singh discussed the use of leaf blowers and walkie-talkies in forest fires. Block Officer Dharamsal, Rajinder Dev Sharma demonstrated first aid, CPR and emergency structure using local materials in detail.
