A Two-Day Induction Program, Social and Cultural Holi Mahotsav held at Girls’ Hostel, JU
JAMMU , March 02- The Girls’ Hostels, University of Jammu hosted a successful 2-day induction program which was followed by social and cultural interaction of boarders and celebration of floral Holi Mahotsav at the girls’ hostel premises. The program aimed to welcome new boarders and introduce them to the hostel culture, while also providing an opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the joyous festival of Holi.
The induction program on day 1 started with the welcome address by Ms. Meenakshi, Warden, Chandrabhaga Girls’ Hostel (CBGH). The session started with an enlightening address by Provost Girls’ Hostel, Prof. Shashi Manhas, who while addressing the gathering of boarders of the entire Girls’ Hostels apprised about the Hostel campus community and its norms, how to balance and excel in both academic and personal life. She encouraged the boarders for taking part in extracurricular opportunities for a rounded growth. An interaction session of boarders was followed with Prof. Shashi Manhas, Provost Girls’ Hostels; Dr Chinmoyee Maharana, Warden, Sarojini Naidu Girls’ Hostel (SNGH); Ms Meenakshi, Warden, (CBGH); Dr Skarma, R/Warden, Priyadarshini Girls’ Hostel (PDGH), Dr Samriti, and Dr Radhika, R/Wardens New Girls Hostel (NGH), Ms Anjali, R/warden, CBGH present during the occasion. A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Skarma, R/Warden, PDGH.
After the conclusion of the induction program on day one, the boarders and staff members from the entire Girls’ Hostel gathered for a colourful and vibrant Holi Mahotsav celebration on day two. Dr Pallavi Sachdev, Warden, PDGH welcomed the guests and the gathering followed by an enchanting cultural program by the hostel boarders on the Holi theme. The Girls Hostel premises saw an enchanting festivity. The atmosphere was filled with music, and an abundance of joy, as everyone came together to celebrate the festival of love and happiness.
The Guest of Honor, Prof. Meena Sharma, the Dean Planning, expressed her delight at the success of the program. On the occasion, the Provost Girls’ Hostel, Prof. Shashi Manhas emphasized that these events will help new boarders to settle in and feel at home on the campus. A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Chinmoyee Maharana, Warden SNGH to the guests, boarders and organizing committees who made this event possible through the hard work and dedication that included the Provost Office, all the Wardens, R/Wardens, Office incharge and Hostel staff of the Girls’ Hostels. Dr Chinmoyee mentioned on the behalf of entire Girls’ Hostel fraternity that “We look forward to continuing to provide our boarders with opportunities to learn, grow, and celebrate together”.
The event received a positive feedback from the guests, boarders and staff. This two day induction program with Holi Mahotsav demonstrated the vibrant and inclusive culture, and showcased the importance of community-building and celebration of diversity.
