AAI & CISF holds plantation drive in Jammu airport
JAMMU, October 11: In an effort to contribute towards environmental conservation and community wellbeing, two significant initiatives took place today in Jammu. The first was a plantation drive conducted with students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, and the second, a cleanliness drive at the New Power House at Jammu Airport, organized by Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
During an educational visit, the students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School participated in a plantation drive aimed at promoting environmental awareness. The event was held in the airport premises, where students and teachers planted a variety of saplings. This initiative not only aimed to increase green cover but also to instill a sense of responsibility towards nature in the younger generation.
Additionally, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jointly conducted a cleanliness drive at the New Power House. This initiative was part of the “Special Campaign 4.0,” under the broader “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,” the nationwide cleanliness campaign. Teams from AAI and CISF actively participated in cleaning the surroundings of the power house, removing waste, and ensuring that the area remains hygienic and pollution-free.
Both initiatives highlight the collaborative efforts of different institutions in creating a cleaner and greener future. The Airport Director of Jammu, Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Garg, commended the efforts of all participants and emphasized the importance of such drives for environmental sustainability and community well-being.
