Absconding accused arrested after 9 years: CB Jammu

JAMMU Aug 10: Special team of Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch Jammu apprehended absconder accused – Bilal Ahmed Handoo @ Doctor Sahib S/o Abdul Karim Handoo R/o Firdous Colony Bemina, Srinagar in case FIR No. 23/2012 U/S 419, 420, 120-B/RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement in hatching a criminal conspiracy in order to dupe complainant of his hard earned money on the pretext of arranging Govt. jobs for his children.

 The absconder was constantly evading his arrest by changing his locations for the last 09 years, as the charge sheet against the accused among other co-accused persons was produced before the Court of law in the year-2014 for judicial determination after allegations of cheating and fraud were substantiated and proved against all the accused during the course of investigation. Since the accused was on a run to evade his arrest, the Hon’ble Court had issued Arrest warrant U/S 512 Cr.PC against him.

Consequent upon his arrest the culprit has been brought to justice by producing before the Hon’ble Court of law for judicial determination. With this arrest Economic Offences Wing Crime Branch Jammu arrested 8 absconders in last 9 weeks.
