ABVP holds protest against recent terror attacks in Jammu region

Jammu , June 12 : In response to the recent surge in terrorist attacks in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Mahanagar staged a robust protest at Prade Chowk, Jammu. The protest aimed to condemn the escalating violence and the role of Pakistan-funded terrorism in the region. Demonstrators burned an effigy of Pakistan, symbolizing their outrage and demand for stringent action.

In the past 80 hours, Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed three separate terrorist attacks, raising significant concerns about the region’s security. The latest incident occurred at the Army’s Temporary Operating Base in Jammu’s Doda region, where terrorists launched an attack, injuring five Army soldiers and one special police official. Security forces neutralized one terrorist during the encounter.

On Tuesday night, terrorists attacked a joint checkpoint of police and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, injuring multiple personnel. The attack took place at a joint checkpoint of the police and Rashtriya Rifles at an army base in the Chattargala area. Kashmir Tigers, a Jaish-e-Mohammed-linked terror group, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Additionally, on Sunday, June 9, terrorists opened fire on a 53-seat bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, resulting in the vehicle plunging into a gorge. The attack claimed nine lives and injured 33 others. Survivors recounted the harrowing ordeal, highlighting the ruthless nature of the assailants.

Arman Khajuria, Secretary of ABVP Jammu Mahanagar, expressed his deep concern over the escalating violence. “The continuous attacks by terrorists are a serious threat to the safety and security of our citizens. It is imperative that we take strong action against those responsible and their supporters. We demand a thorough CBI inquiry into these incidents to ensure justice and accountability.”

Manik Goswami, Joint Secretary of ABVP Jammu Mahanagar, emphasized the need for unity and vigilance. “The recent attacks are a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by terrorism. We must remain united in our efforts to combat this menace and ensure the safety of our people. Our protest today is a call for action and justice.”

Harish Sharma, another Joint Secretary of ABVP Jammu Mahanagar, called for a stronger response from the government. “The government must take decisive measures to tackle terrorism and its supporters. The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve peace and security. We urge the authorities to conduct a comprehensive CBI inquiry to bring the perpetrators to justice.”
