Sheetal Devi, a living embodiment of indomitable human strength, etched her name in the annals of history by winning a gold medal in the compound open archery event at the prestigious Asian Para Games held in China.
The team comprising Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Sham Lal, together with a team of officer of District including Deputy District Election Officer Kishtwar Naresh Kumar, Nodal Officer AYUSH Vikram Singh Jamwal besides ZPEO Inderwal Deep Kumar and Incharge Machail Mata Yatra Cell Lovemeet Kotwal received the Ace Archer at Jammu Airport and extended their heartfelt congratulations to her for this extraordinary feat.
Sheetal Devi’s journey is a testament to the indomitable power of the human spirit. Born without hands (Phocomelia) in a remote village in Kishtwar, she defied all odds to attain international recognition.
Her exceptional talent was first noticed by the India Army during a camp in 2019 amidst the rugged mountains of her homeland.
Since then, she has made a remarkable mark on the global stage, further supported by the Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, which offered infrastructure for her training in Katra.
