ADC Ganderbal inspects work progress on Wayil Bridge
Directs executing agency to expedite work
GANDERBAL, January 11: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal today visited the under-construction Wayil Bridge to inspect the progress of work.
On the occasion, the ADC complimented the R&B (Executing Agency) for launching Arch Truss Girders type Bridge in a short span period time adding that such unique type designs works will be taken in future.
The Executive Engineer R&B Ganderbal informed that the bridge has an arch type steel girder with well foundation design with span 110 meters and width 10.50 meters besides, length of approach roads is 330 meters.
Keeping in view the importance of this prestigious project, the ADC directed the executing agency to expedite the work progress so that it gets completed within a given timeline.
Further Executive Engineer R&B informed that the total cost of bridge is Rs 23.79 Crores under JTRF and after the completion the bridge will be first of its kind in the valley and will be thrown open to the general public at the end January, 2023.
The Officials of the executing agency informed ADC that the work on the approaches is underway and the approaches will be completed in the month of April, 2023.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC directed the R&B Department to expedite the work so that the general public does not face any inconvenience.
During the visit, the ADC was accompanied by Executive Engineer, R&B, I&FC Tehsildar Lar and Ganderbal along with patwaris and officials of NHAI.
