ADC Jammu reviews Christmas preparedness in district
JAMMU, DECEMBER 13: Additional Deputy Commissioner Ansuya Jamwal chaired a meeting to review preparations for the upcoming Christmas celebrations in the district. The meeting was attended by district officers and public representatives, who discussed arrangements to ensure smooth and safe festivities.
The ADC directed the police to deploy adequate personnel along the designated Christmas procession route to ensure security and maintain public order. She also instructed the Jammu Municipal Corporation to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in and around the procession route and congregation areas.
The Jal Shakti Department and JMC were asked to arrange drinking water facilities, while the Power Development Department was tasked with ensuring an uninterrupted power supply during the celebrations.
The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs was directed to monitor the availability of essential commodities and prevent hoarding or overpricing. The Public Works Department was instructed to complete necessary road repairs along the procession route to facilitate smooth movement.
The Health Department will establish medical aid stations, while the Fire and Emergency Services Department will deploy fire tenders as a precautionary measure. Additionally, magistrates will be stationed at key points along the route for effective coordination and quick decision-making.
The ADC emphasised the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure the celebrations are conducted in a safe and organised manner. She urged officials to provide a pleasant and secure environment for the public during the festive season.
