ADC Leh convened meeting on Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls

Leh, September 28, 2024: The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh Ghulam Mohd. (JKAS) convened a meeting to review the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls w.r.t 01.01.2025 at video conference room, DC office Leh today.

During the meeting, Election Naib Tehsildar Tsewang Dorjey briefed the ADC about the status of house-to-house survey and the requirement for the completion of the survery before its last date i.e.,18 October 2024. He also apprised the officer about recommendation of new polling station or change of polling stations if any and registration or updation of NRIs in the electoral roll.

ADC Leh, reviewed the status and stressed on completion of all the house-to-house survey before the last date. He instructed all the Tehsildars to encourage their BLOs to complete the task within the time frame. He also instructed the Election Naib Tehsildar to issue a circular to all the departments to give direction to all the BLOs to achieve the given target within the given time.

He also stressed on identification and registration of NRIs in the electoral roll. He added that if their names are already in the electoral roll, then they have to update by filling in Form 6 A . It was emphasized that any person living or studying abroad must fill the form and do their registration or update their registration.

Furthermore, a time frame of 2 days was given to all the BLOs and Tehsildars to identify the requirement or recommendation of New Polling Stations or change of Polling Stations. ADC Leh added that before identifying new polling stations, the BLOs must take note of the required facilities that a polling station must have.

The meeting was attended by District Sveep Nodal Officer Leh, Tehsildar Leh, Election Naib Tehsildar and other officials. Out stationed Tehsildars attended the meeting through Video Conferencing.
