ADC Ramban flags off ‘Amrit Kalash’ yatra to Jammu
RAMBAN, October 26: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Harbans Sharma today flagged off ‘Amrit Kalash’ containing the holy soil of the district to Jammu which shall further travel to the National Capital for becoming a part of Amrit Vatika in National Capital, Dehli.
The Amrit Kalash were received by the District Administration Ramban on October 22 amid grand celebrations from all the 11-blocks and 3-MCs as part of the 2nd phase of “Meri Maati Mera Desh” (MMMD) campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC said that the Amrit Kalash Yatra symbolized unity and respect for the sacrifices made by the national heroes as part of the “Maati Ko Naman Veeron Ko Vandan” campaign. It also aims to develop a sense of pride and honour being citizens of the great Bharat.
The ADC said that these pots, beautifully decorated and representing 11 blocks and Municipal Council Ramban and Municipal Committees of Banihal and Batote, were ceremoniously brought together at Ramban representing the holy soil of the motherland from District Ramban.
The ADC informed that the District Administration has made transport and other necessary arrangements for Amrit Kalash yatra from Ramban to Jammu. He also complimented all officers, officials and other participants for making the event ‘Kalash Yatra’ under ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign a grand success at Panchayat, block and district levels.
Among other CPO, Dr Kasturi Lal, ACD, Ashok Katoch, GM DIC, Ravinder Anand, Dy. DEO, Lal Chand, CMO, CAO, AD Fisheries, ARTO, DSWO, AD CA&CS, Executive Engineer PWD, Tehsidar Ramban and various other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
