Additional Deputy Commissioner presides over training for Counting Day 

LEH, May 31: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Leh, Ghulam Mohd (JKAS) presided over the training for the Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers for the counting of votes in Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) at DC Conference Hall today on May 31.

The training was conducted by Nodal Officer, EVM, Mohd Ayub and Nodal Officer, Training Management, Dr Stanzin Rabgais.

Nodal Officer, EVM, Mohd Ayub talked about the process of counting the votes from the EVMs on the counting day in detail. He stated that there will be 14 teams that will be counting the votes and the  teams will consist of a Counting Supervisor and a Counting Assistant. There will be a randomisation of the teams on June 3 and the final randomisation will take place on June 4.

Further, he said that no phones will be allowed inside the counting room and the counting will start at 8:30 am. The counting will happen round wise and each team will be presented with one machine during each round. 

He instructed the teams to ensure that the seals on the machines are intact and the number of votes in the machine and Form 17-C should match. He also added that the teams have to show the polling agents the seals on the machines while opening. 

Additionally, Nodal Officer, Training Management, Dr Stanzin Rabgais showcased the counting process with the help of a training EVM machine. 

The Counting Supervisors and Counting Assistants conducted a trial run on the training EVM machines.

The training was attended by District Information Officer, NIC, Tashi Tundup, District Level Master Trainer, Rigzin Namgail and the officials deputed as Counting Supervisors and Counting Assistants.
