“Adequate force deployed in Delhi”: Additional CP, Eastern Range on Kanwar Yatra
New Delhi [India], July 21 (ANI): Ahead of the Kanwar Yatra 2024, which is scheduled to start on Monday, Additional CP (Traffic) of Eastern Range Dinesh Kumar Gupta said that all routes have been identified and adequate force is deployed in Delhi to eliminate inconvenience to the devotees.
He said that an advisory has also been issued regarding the routes on social and print media.
Speaking with ANI, on traffic arrangements for the Kanwar Yatra in Delhi, Additional CP (Traffic) of Eastern Range Dinesh Kumar Gupta said, “For Kanwar Yatra, we have identified all the routes and have made adequate deployment there. We have tried to organise a camp on footpaths, so that they won’t have to walk on the road. For this purpose, we have talked to organisers and local police too. This is done to avoid any kind of collision with traffic. With the increase in the crowd of Kanwariyas, we will have to divert the routes…We have also issued an advisory regarding the routes on social and print media.”
Earlier in the day, the Lucknow Police has made extensive security arrangements, including the use of CCTV cameras.
Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Law and Order Amit Verma took stock of the arrangements with the management committee of the temples.
JCP Law and Order Amit Verma said, “The month of Savan is starting from tomorrow. Tomorrow is the first Monday. We have spoken to the management committee of the temples. Traffic diversions and advisories have been issued around the temples and in the city. Our officers will also be on the spot.”
Every year, many Kanwar devotees pass through Lucknow, and the number is constantly increasing.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Haridwar Parmendra Dobhal said that the entire Kanwar Mela area has been divided into 14 super zones and 35 zones.
He said that over 5,500 police personnel have been deployed in this Kanwar Mela, and apart from this, a plan for route diversion has also been kept in it for crowd management.
Speaking exclusively to ANI, the SSP said, “Police officers have been deployed in 132 sectors, which include central security forces as well as police officers. Police is ready for traffic control and crowd management.
It is worth mentioning here that RAF and other forces are deployed in the Haridwar Mela area in view of security.
The Uttar Pradesh Police said on Saturday that all preparations for the Shravan Shivratri festival have been successfully completed. They expressed confidence that the festival would be conducted smoothly.
