ADGP Anand Jain assures for all dynamism to strengthen Cyber Police Station in Jammu

JAMMU, 5 January 2024: Given increasing cases of cyber-crime, ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, IPS on Friday paid a visit to Cyber Police Station Jammu Zone and issued necessary directions to the Officers/Officials to professionally deal with the Cyber-Crime related cases.

During inspection, ADGP Jammu Zone appreciated the efforts made by the Cyber PS Jammu in the investigation of various kinds of Cyber Crimes and insisted to put more human and technological efforts to deal with forthcoming cyber cases related to emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence/Deep Fakes etc.

Cyber Cells/Cyber investigation teams would be made operational at district headquarters level in every district of Jammu Zone so that the innocent general public may not feel hardship in reporting various types of cyber-crimes. He assured that all possible efforts would be taken up to further strengthen the Cyber Police Station with men and advance technology.

ADGP also enquired about the progress of the construction of Cyber PS building and insisted to speed-up the pace of the construction work in consultation with the concerned construction agency, so that the it could be made operational at an earliest.

Directions were given for vigorously increasing the pace of cyber awareness at every level to aware the masses about various types of cyber-crimes to prevent them from being cheated of their hard-earned money by the online fraudsters/cyber criminals.

At the outset, Superintendent of Police, I/C Cyber PS Jammu,Kameshwar Puri, apprised the Addl. DGP, J/Z, with the functioning of Cyber PS & various online portals being handled by Cyber PS Jammu like 1930.

He was also apprised with the various kinds of cyber-crimes which are reported at Cyber Police Station like financial frauds, social media related cases like sextortion and other Cyber special natured cyber Crime related Cases like malware attacks, cyber security breaches, cyber terrorism etc.

ADGP was also apprised with the functioning of online cyber-crime reporting mechanism on 1930 portal followed by their investigation procedure at Cyber Police Station/other jurisdictional Police Stations’ level at different districts of Jammu Zone.

ADGP was also apprised that more than 1.25 Cr. have been recovered by Cyber PS since its creation by the Cyber PS.
